Magic Mountains Part 1

Magic Mountains Part 1

Land of the Chamois

The multiple award-winning documentary provides a fantastic insight into the varied animal life that inhabits the region between the Dachstein mountain and the Niedere Tauern mountain range: alongside the pistes, chamois, black grouse, the western capercaillie and the mighty red deer have found their ideal habitat. Rarely, but more often than one might think, wolves stray into the dense mountain forests and dark ravines of the region. Trout and tiny freshwater crayfish live in the clear bodies of water around Schladming, and the many lakes of the Niedere Tauern range are home to an amazing world of flora and fauna that can frequently only be seen through a microscope.

A co-production of Interspot Film, ORF and Bayerischer Rundfunk, funded by Cinestyria and Fernsehfonds Austria.
