He explores Austria's most attractive regions, presenting the country's fascinating flora and fauna and meeting people committed to preserving the natural world with passion and innovative approaches.

The film presents the natural beauty and the inhabitants of Lower Austria's Rax, Schneeberg and Hohe Wand mountains, a popular destination for the Viennese. Hermann Maier is surprised to discover that eastern Austria, commonly assumed to be rather flat, actually has its own little area of the Alps. Here, in the Alpine foothills, there is a particularly high level of flora and fauna diversity, and the region even has its own mountain sports traditions. It is the perfect place for Maier, who once again provides a very personal and compelling look at one of Austria's natural jewels.
