We all know them: the drivers who trundle along in the fast lane, who have forgotten what indicators are for or who simply appear to be on a kamikaze mission. Then there are those who can't park, who lose their temper at the drop of a hat or who think the road belongs to them alone.
They are the stars of the ORF show "Austria's Worst Drivers". In eight episodes, the summer format seeks to find the undisputed worst driver on Austria's roads.
Every week, the driver who has shown the most improvement from the week before leaves the show. Success or failure is determined by an uncompromising jury - and those who succeed in leaving the show are rewarded with a new car.
The popular radio presenter Robert Kratky puts the participants through their paces and each driver has to successfully complete a number of challenges. These include basics like parking, hill starts, targeted braking and changing lanes in difficult conditions. Those who do well are thrown off the show and receive a car for their efforts. The nine candidates are not the only ones who have to prove themselves behind the wheel - every week, Robert Kratky has to demonstrate his own automotive skills.
