Meine Heimat ("My Home") is a TV series produced by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation ORF featuring the Olympic medal winner and world champion skiing legend Hermann Maier. He explores Austria's most attractive regions, presenting the country's fascinating flora and fauna and meeting people committed to preserving the natural world with passion and innovative approaches.
"The area around the Großglockner mountain is really quite amazing," the skiing star remarks. "It is incredible how the people here live in harmony with nature."
The Hohe Tauern National Park includes the Großglockner and Großvenediger mountains. It is Austria's largest conservation area and dates back around 100 years.
