Hermann Maier – Meine Heimat – The Dachstein Region

Meine Heimat ("My Home") is a TV series produced by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation ORF featuring the Olympic medal winner and world champion skiing legend Hermann Maier. He explores Austria's most attractive regions, presenting the country's fascinating flora and fauna and meeting people committed to preserving the natural world with passion and innovative approaches.

Hermann Maier knows the Dachstein region particularly well. He attended Schladming's Ski Academy and raced on the icy slopes of the Planai. This time, he visits the internationally renowned skiing area in summer, encountering herders and their flocks in the mountain pastures, diving in one of the freezing cold mountain lakes, rising high in a glider and climbing the Dachstein glacier.
