Prince Eugene’s Miracle Garden

Prince Eugene’s Miracle Garden

The reincarnation of the baroque garden of Schloß Hof

A palace embedded in its fairytale gardens – like a landscape born out of a dream!

It is the story of the world's only baroque gardens that are being restored to their original layout. This TV documentary describes the sensational resurrection of the unique palace gardens of Schloss Hof. Situated to the east of Vienna, close to the Slovakian border, Schloss Hof was the hunting seat and summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy, brilliant military commander, philosopher and the leading statesman of his time.

After centuries of oblivion, steeped in legends, this baroque gem is now being uncovered step by step, using historical maps to restore both its structures and garden architecture with close attention to detail.

For more than two years, the camera has accompanied this fascinating revitalisation, taking its viewers on a computer-animated journey into the depths of time, back into the baroque world of Prince Eugene.
