Hansi Hinterseer - The Inn River

Production Overview

Supported by music stars like Karel Gott and the Klosterthaler, Hansi Hinterseer presents the most stunning landscapes of the Alps as part of his campaign for their preservation. The first episode focuses on the distinctive natural features along the Inn river. The preservation of nature, environment and traditions, and an all-encompassing respect for life - these are the things Hansi Hinterseer stands for.

With energy and humour, the Tyrolean star makes the case for the values that are particularly important to him. The WWF has assumed patronage of the series, reinforcing its relevance to nature preservation.

During his travels along the Inn, Hansi is accompanied by a clever Swiss mountain dog. In the first episode, Hansi and his four-legged friend journey from the source of the Inn river at the Maloja Pass in Switzerland through the Engadin valley and Tyrol, before arriving in baroque Bavarian Passau. In the course of his travels he presents unique footage of endangered  animal species. Olympic ski jump champion and WWF patron Toni Innauer releases young fishes into the wild and Hansi visits the European Nature Reserve Lower River Inn, where a quarter of a million birds arrive every year. The wetlands are home to 800 species of butterfly.

Musical highlights include Karel Gott, Angelika Milster, the Klostertaler, Oesch's die Dritten, Angela Wiedl, Marc Pircher, the Original Tiroler Kaiserjägermusik and many other renowned artists. Of course, the popular star Hansi Hinterseer will sing a few of his favourite songs. In addition, celebrity chef Alfons Schuhbeck will explain the medicinal properties of herbs from the garden of the Stift Reichersberg monastery and demonstrate their use in the kitchen.
